You bet on an odd total in a football match. For the bet to win, the teams must score an odd number of goals between them: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc. It does not matter who scores or how the match ends, all that matters for the bet is the odd or even number of goals, etc.
The bet can be total or individual. For a bet on a total even/odd, the points of both participants are taken into account. For an individual bet, only the selected team, etc. is considered. There are 2 options:
- even: bets on an even indicator
- odd: bets on an odd indicator
Draw: always counted as even, including 0:0.
Even/odd betting strategies
The outcome of a bet on an even or odd score depends mainly on chance. To increase your chance of winning, use strategies to help you win back money if you lost.
The universal even/odd betting strategy is chasing. This is a strategy where after each loss you increase the bet size and bet on the same event again. This means that if you placed the first bet on an even number, then next time you bet on an even number again.
This strategy is based on the fact that the bet will win sooner or later, and the win will win you back all the money you lost. The chasing strategy works in any sport, and thanks to the approximately equal chances of bets, losing streaks rarely stretch on for too long.
The chasing amount increases based on the following formula:
S = (X + Y) ÷ (k - 1)
S – bet amount X – estimated winnings from the first bet Y – amount lost during the strategy k – odds of the selected event
This formula helps you calculate the bet size so that when you win, you are guaranteed to make a profit and not spend extra money trying to recoup losses.
An example of chasing with an even/odd bet
- You bet EUR 10 on an even score in the match with odds of 2.00.
- The match ended with a score of 1:0. The bet loses.
- In another match, you bet on an even score with odds of 2.00.
We calculate the bet amount using the chasing formula: EUR 30. - The bet loses again. So you bet again on even with odds of 2.00.
Bet amount: EUR 60. - The bet wins, and you earn EUR 120.
In total, you bet EUR 100 and earned a net profit of EUR 20.
Even/odd in football
You bet on even/odd and insure the bet with another on total over 2.5.
Basis of the strategy:
- You bet on even/odd.
- You also place a bet on total over 2.5 in the same bet.
- The amount of the second bet is the same as the first.
The bet on a total over 2.5 is better with odds over 2.00 (at least 2.10). A bet with these odds will compensate for the loss of the first bet and recoup the total bet amount.
In most cases, odd/even bets are accepted with odds of 1.80-1.90. If only the first bet wins, you will not lose very much. This is the price of bet insurance: without insurance, if you lose, you will lose much more. But if both bets win, the player gets double the profit. Both bets will only lose in two cases: when the score is 1:0 or 0:1. Therefore, it is best to look for suitable matches in high-scoring championships where matches rarely end with just one goal.
- You bet EUR 10 each on TO 2.5 and an even score in the Villarreal — Atlético match.TO 2.5 odds: 2.20.
Even score odds: 1.80. - The match ended with a score of 2:1. The bet on the total won, and the bet on the even score lost.
- The bet on TO 2.5 earned you EUR 22. And you spent just a total of EUR 20 on bets, so your bank increased by EUR 2.
Even/odd in basketball
In basketball matches with two teams, the total score can reach triple digits. It's difficult to predict what the final score will be. So people like to bet on chasing quarters in Live.
The chasing strategy in quarters is based solely on statistics: only about 10% of matches end with all quarters ending with only an even or only an odd score. This means that in 90% of cases, the chasing strategy will work in a maximum series of 4 bets.
- You bet on an odd or even score in the first quarter.
- If it loses, you increase the size of the bet according to the chasing formula and bet on the same event in the next quarter.
- If the bet wins, you end the strategy and remain in the black.
- If the strategy does not end in a win within one match, then the player continues to chase in the next game.
Even/odd in hockey
Hockey matches differ from other sports in that they often end with an unequal number of players on teams. One of the teams may remove the goalkeeper and put in an extra fielder to level the score or close the gap.
If at the end of the match one of the teams puts out a field player instead of a goalkeeper, then players bet on a score (even/odd) opposite to the current score. For example, if at the moment the hockey player comes out on the field the score is even, then players bet on an odd final score, and vice versa. Due to the absence of a goalkeeper, the chances of another goal being scored increases: for one team, due to the advantage in the number of hockey players, and for the other, due to the empty goal.
