Single

A single bet is a bet on one event.
What is single bet
A Single bet can be on anything: match results,
total
goals, a win in one of the halves. To place a Single bet, add a selection to the bet slip, enter the amount and confirm the bet. Single bets can be settled in three ways: win, loss or
return

How are Single bet winnings settled?

Multiply the odds by the bet amount. This is how you calculate the predicted winnings based on how much was bet. To calculate the net profit, subtract the amount bet from the amount won.
  • You bet EUR 10 on Real Madrid to win with odds of 2.50.
  • If Real Madrid wins, you get EUR 25 (10 × 2.50 = 25).
    Net profit
    : EUR 25 - 10 = 15.
  • If the match ends in a draw or loss, you lose the amount bet.

What is a double Single bet?

Sports in Fonbet offers double Single bets. They consist of two selections, for example "Win and total over 2.5", "Draw and one of the teams scores a goal", "Both teams score a goal and match ends in a draw". Double Single bet odds are higher than regular Single bets because the chances of two selections occurring are lower than just one occurring.
You bet on PSG winning and a total over 2.5. For the bet to win, PSG needs to win the

match and a total of three goals need to be scored combined.

What's the difference between a Single and Multiple bet?

There is less risk in Single bets, since to win only a single selection needs to be predicted. For Multiple bets, all selections need to be predicted correctly, and if just one isn't, the entire bet is settled as a loss. Multiple odds are often higher, as these bets are settled as the product of the odds of all included selections.
You made two selections: total over 2.5 with odds of 2.00, and Barcelona wins with odds of 1.50.
With a Single bet of EUR 10 for each selection, if you win, you get EUR 35 (10 × 2.00 + 10 × 1.50). If one of the bets loses, you either go a little into the

red, or make money.
If you make a
Multiple and bet EUR 20, you can win EUR 60 (20 × 2.00 × 1.50), which is almost twice as much as what you would earn on a Single bet. However, you also risk the entire bet amount, since if one selection is not predicted correctly, then you lose EUR 20.

How to place Single bets?

Read the bet settlement rules
Settlement and winning rules may vary based on the bet type. For example, bets on match results are settled at the end of
regular time
and do not include additional time, while handicap bets based on a certain match outcome are returned.
Bet smaller amounts, no more than 5-7% of your bank
The higher the odds, the more you risk, so the higher the odds, the less you should bet. There are several different bank management methods, one of which is called a
"flat"
. Flat is a strategy where players place bets for 1-3% of their current bank balance.
Your bank is EUR 1000, and you bet 1% (EUR 10). The bet loses, and now your bank is EUR 990. You bet 1% of your bank again, but based on its current size instead of its original size: 1% of EUR 990 = EUR 9,9.
Use betting strategies
They help you lose less or get yourself out of the red after losing streaks. Some strategies work for all types of sports, while others only for certain ones or even championships. We have written about betting strategies for the different types of bets in a separate section.
Here we will look at two betting strategies that are good for any type of sport or tournament. The ladder strategy helps increase earnings from bets with low odds, and chasing helps you get out of the red after a losing streak.

Ladder

The ladder strategy helps increase how much you win from bets with low odds. Players choose a selection with odds of 1.10-1.20 and bets 1-3% of their bank on it. If the bet wins, they choose the next selection and bet all the money they just won on it.
The essence of the strategy is that the player only risks the money they won and the amount initially bet, and low odds help secure a long winning streak and grow the amount bet.

Chasing

Chasing
helps you regain an amount lost. The player places a bet on any selection, and in the case of a loss, they increase the bet amount and bet on the next outcome. This way, a win will recoup all the money lost and get the player out of the red.
The main downside of chasing is that you need a large bank (at least 100x larger than the initial amount bet). In this case, the player can afford 5-7 lost bets in a row. If the bank is small, then by the 5th bet the player may run out of money, forcing an early end to the strategy and it won't be profitable.
We have written an entire article about the chasing strategy.
