Wager

A wager is the bet amount you need to place in order to receive a bonus in a betting company.

The wager amount is equal to a multiple of the bonus. It is typically shown as №x, where № is the multiple. For example, 10x means that you need to bet the amount of the bonus 10 times to earn the actual bonus. This is the bonus wager requirement.

How to get a bonus with wage requirements?

Use betting strategies.
Betting strategies help control your bank and make a profit in the long term. The best strategy for wagering is "chasing". It helps you manage a chain of bets, where in case of a loss, you increase the bet amount according to the formula. If you win, you also win back all the money you lost plus a profit.
The wager requirements are not for winning bets, only the total amount of bets placed. So when using the chasing strategy, you will meet wager requirements fast and also compensate for any losses. Check out our
Chasing article
for more information on this strategy.
Use a betting schedule.
Wager promos are usually temporary, so plan your bets: select tournaments you understand, and make a list of matches and events. Plan to complete wager requirements a few days before the end of the promo. You should keep a few extra days in case you need them for bets in the event of anything unexpected.
Take breaks.
If you lose money wagering, try placing bets you are comfortable with, for example, with lower odds or for less money. These bets will not count towards wager requirements, but they will help you feel more confident and stabilise your bank. In some cases, it is worth forgetting about the promo altogether, for example, if the bonus does not compensate for the money you lost.

Why are there wager requirements?

These requirements help the company avoid bonus hunters, or players who exploit bonus programmes. They register several accounts using someone else's passport data, earn bonuses for each of them, then withdraw everything from the account. This is a violation of any betting company's rules. Wager requirements help slow down the illegal receipt of bonuses thanks to initial amounts wagered.

Are there any wager restrictions?

To help combat bonus hunters, betting companies can set additional wager restrictions.
  • On odds. The betting company may limit the minimum odds of a bet that counts towards meeting wager requirements.

  • On bet type. Promo conditions can include which bets will be taken into account: Single, Multiple or System bets.
  • On the type of sport or tournament. If the promo is related to a certain event, then the betting company may only accept bets on this tournament for wagering.
