Double chance

A double chance is when a bet is placed on two event selections at the same time.
What is a double chance in betting and how it is designated in football and other types of sports
Double chance bets are only available for sports where draws are permitted by the rules.
There are three types of double chance bets.
  • 1Х – home team wins or draw.
  • Х2 – away team wins or draw.
  • 12 – either team wins.

How to determine which team is the home team?

Take a look at the match name. The team on the left is the home team, and on the right is the away team.
For example, a Porto – Liverpool match.
  • 1Х – Porto doesn't lose
  • Х2 – Liverpool doesn't lose
  • 12 – one of the teams wins, it doesn't matter which

How are double chance bets settled?

Outcomes are settled based on the results of the main time of the match. In football and hockey matches,
overtime
, penalties and bullets are not counted when settling bets.
Among the popular sports, overtime is used in soccer and hockey.
  • In football, 2 halves of 15 minutes each are played in extra time. If no winner is determined in extra time, the teams have a penalty shootout.
  • In hockey, overtime is most often a single 5-minute period of extra time. The duration of the halves and the number of players on the ice depends on the rules of the tournament. If no winner is determined at the end of overtime, the teams have a shootout.
Basketball also has overtime, but overtime results are taken into account when settling bets.
  • We bet on a win for Juventus or Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
  • Regular time ended in a draw, and Juventus won in extra time.
  • We lost our bet because regular time ended in a draw, and the result of the extra time had no effect on the bet.

Which is better – a normal or double outcome?

Single chance

Double chance

Odds higher

Odds lower

Winning chance lower

Winning chance higher

A normal outcome is better if you are confident the bet will win. In this case you will generate more profits. A double outcome has low odds, often two times lower than a normal one. This is because you are placing bets on two match results at once.
The benefits of a double outcome is that you have insurance. This bet covers two of the three outcomes of the match, so you will have a better chance of winning. Also with the double outcome you can insure other bets in Live.
  • In pre-match we place a bet on the match favourite to win.
  • As the match progresses, the outsider plays better and creates more dangerous chances.
  • In Live, we bet that the outsider will not lose, and we insure the first bet against loss.

Bet strategy against draws

This strategy is based on statistics. In most championships, the number of draws does not exceed 20-30%. That means 70-80% of 12 bets will win.

To increase the effectiveness of the strategy, players insure it with a bet on a draw. After the first goal is scored, the player places a bet on a draw at high odds.
STRATEGY EXAMPLE

  1. We bet EUR 10 on the victory of either team in the England — Croatia match with odds of 1.30.
  2. England scored a goal in the first half. The odds on a draw increase from 3.55 to 7.00.
  3. We bet EUR 2 on a draw.
Let's calculate how much we will earn depending on the outcome:
  • If England or Croatia win, a 12 bet will win, and we will earn EUR 13 (net profit: EUR 3). The bet on a draw will lose, but we still stay in the black by EUR 1 (3 - 2 = 1).
  • If the teams draw, the bet on a draw will win, and we will earn EUR 14 (net profit: EUR 12). The 12 bet does not win. Ultimately, we earn EUR 2 (12 - 10 = 2).
