The Pulga left the Catalans with a heavy heart

Lionel Messi returned home one autumn night after four years — and moved every football fan.
Four years have passed since Lionel Messi left Barcelona with tears in his eyes. It was a moment both the team’s fans and the Argentine himself have tried to forget — the day he left his home. But even when you leave home, your heart will always lead you back to where it belongs… and Messi returned, even if only for a while.
The GOAT visited Camp Nou visibly emotional, hoping that one day he’ll be able to return to bid farewell to the fans who loved him so deeply, and to the place where he became who he is today.
“Last night I returned to a place I miss with all my heart. A place where I was endlessly happy, where all of you made me feel a thousand times like the happiest person in the world. I hope I can come back one day — not just to say goodbye as a player, something I never got the chance to do.”
Joan Laporta has repeatedly expressed his wish to honor Messi for everything he has given to Barcelona — and hopefully, that wish will one day come true.
The Pulga left the Catalan club with a heavy heart, and understandably so. How could you let one of the greatest footballers the sport has ever seen leave your team? A man who made thousands of children fall in love with Barça — and with football itself.
