Cyber football betting strategies

Cyberfootball betting strategies
Check out our strategies and advice for betting on football simulators.
Cyber football matches can be found in the Football section. The matches are held in FIFA and PES computer games. Each team is controlled by one person (two in some cases). The match outcome depends to a greater extent on the individual skills of the e‑athletes, and less on the team lineups.

Cyber football betting tips

This advice works for any matches. It will help you select the safest events and increase your win rate.
Don't bet on a low total
In sports simulators, players have a lot of offensive options, including feints, long-range shots and combos. There are also far fewer defense methods, as the simulator's limitations don't let players set up a working positional defense. As a result of these differences, e‑sports players are more likely to rely on the offensive potential of their team and try to score more goals, rather than conceding less.
Consider the tournament level
If the tournament is an important one, well-known professional players will try their hardest to win the title and get the prize money. This means you should bet on the match favourites.
If there's a small prize fund and a win doesn't come with a significant title, the favourites are unlikely to play at this level, and if they do, it's strictly for fun. However, unknown e‑athletes will try to make a name for themselves and take home the title, even if it doesn't carry much weight. In smaller tournaments, bet on the
underdogs
or their victory with a positive
handicap
.
Try to avoid betting on a losing player in Live
In cyber football with human e‑athletes, a player that's behind rarely comes back and wins. Due to the short match duration, the winning player doesn't have time to relax and lose their concentration.

Cyber football betting strategies

The main goal of betting strategies is

to

reduce the

number of

losses and help the

player make their

pot last for

more bets.
Betting on draws

This is a risky strategy based on the high odds of

selections for

a

draw. In Sports, draws usually have

higher odds than one of

the

participants winning. This

is

due to

the

relative rarity of

this

selection (approximately 20-30% of

cyber football matches end in

a

draw).
At the FIFA eClub World Cup 2020, 44 of

217 matches ended in

a

draw (20%), and

at

the

FIFA 20 Summer Cup Series Middle East & Africa tournament, this

number was 8

out

of

28 (28%).
Select major tournaments

The higher the prize amount, the harder the

players will be

trying. If

participants are

eliminated from the

tournament after losing, then

they probably won't take risks and

will play better defence.
Keep track of the odds

If you can bet on a win by one of the match participants with odds under 1.30, then

the

match is

unlikely to

end in

a

draw. When there is

a

big difference in

performance abilities, the

outsider won't be

able to

resist their opponent effectively and

will most likely lose.

Bets on the outsider scoring

Sports simulators are oriented towards offence, so

outsiders have lots of

chances to

score at

least one goal. A

goal can happen no

matter the

score, for

example, in

a

random counterattack at

the

beginning of

the

match, or

at

the

end when the

favourite lets their guard down.
Choose top tournaments or tournaments with smaller prizes
The reason behind these extremes lies in

the

participants' motivation and

average skill level. To

make it

to

a

top tournament, esports players have to

qualify through a

multi-level qualification grid, so

the

level of

play of

participants is

usually balanced. There are

still favourites and

outsiders but

they won't be

a

huge gap allowing for walkover wins or

losses.
At fan tournaments, favourites don't give it

their all, so

outsiders have chances of

scoring.

Bets on a total over 2.5

This strategy is also based on the high average score of

cyber football matches. Matches rarely end with a

total of

less than 2.5. Favourites usually crush their opponents, and

outsiders have higher chances of

scoring as

well.
Bet on matches where opponents are mismatched
The larger the gap in the performance level of

esports players, the

more likely it

is

that

the

match will end with a

high score. Equally matched opponents usually take less risks and

try to

play more conservatively so

they don't concede an accidental goal. As

a

result, matches are lower scoring, and

a

match without a

clear favourite or

outsider might end

with no

goals scored at

all.

Chasing bets in cyber football

Chasing
is a betting management strategy that

helps win back the

money you wagered in

the

event of

one or

more losses. In

chasing, if

you place a

bet and

lose, you

increase the

amount and place the

same bet in

the

next match. A

win will pay off

all the

money you lost and

earn you

a

profit.
Chasing works according to this formula:
(x + y) ÷ (k - 1)
  • x – potential winnings of the first bet in

    the

    strategy
  • y – the amount lost in previous iterations
  • d – event odds
You need a large pot to

chase. The

bet amount increases with each loss, so

only start chasing if

you have enough funds for

at

least five losses. To

calculate your pot, determine the

minimum betting odds and

calculate how much you'll be

betting by

the

fifth loss.
Chasing example

  1. You bet on an esports athlete to win a match
    Odds – 2.00
    Amount: EUR

    10
    Potential winnings: EUR 20
    The bet loses
  2. Bet on the player winning the next match Odds – 3.00 Calculate the amount: (20 + 10) ÷ (3.00 - 1) = EUR 15 The bet loses
  3. Bet on the same player winning Odds – 2.00 Calculate the amount: (20 + 10 + 15) ÷ (2 - 1) = EUR 45 The bet wins and you earn EUR 90.
Calculate the net profit by subtracting from the winnings of all bets placed:
90 - (10 + 15 + 45) = EUR 20.
