The final 4–4 produced no winner, but delivered a match that will be talked about for a long time

In a game that was a true… rodeo, Manchester United and Bournemouth served up one of the most thrilling spectacles of the season! Old Trafford experienced moments of pure football madness, with the score constantly changing, chances coming one after another, and the ball going end to end until the final whistle.
The final 4–4 produced no winner, but delivered a match that will be talked about for a long time as one of the most exciting of the year. And all this at a stadium where Bournemouth had left as 3–0 winners on their previous two visits, confirming once again that they are a real “bogey team” for United. At the same time, Rúben Amorim still hasn’t found a way to beat Antonio Iraola!
A statistic that perfectly captures the madness of the game: a total of 37 shots between the two teams, a number not recorded in any other Premier League match this season.
United started strongly and opened the scoring as early as the 13th minute: Cunha got involved in the move, Petrovic made the save, but Diallo was there to finish from close range for 1–0. In the 19th minute the “Red Devils” missed another chance with Cunha, while in the 23rd Diakité made a crucial block on him. In the 29th minute Lamens produced a spectacular save from Tavernier’s header, and in the 34th Smith saved his team with a tremendous tackle on Diallo. Two minutes later, Cunha played a superb pass to Bumo, whose brilliant finish sent the ball just wide.
Against the run of play, Bournemouth equalised in the 40th minute through Semenyo, who with an individual effort and a perfect finish made it 1–1. United had missed a big chance shortly before with Casemiro and paid the price. However, in stoppage time of the first half (45’+4’), Bruno took a corner, Casemiro got the header, and Petrovic spilled the ball out of his hands, resulting in the 2–1 and wild celebrations.
The second half was a real rollercoaster! In the 46th minute Evanilson equalised again for Bournemouth (2–2), while in the 52nd Tavernier turned the game on its head with a stunning free kick (2–3). In the 67th minute Cunha tried a difficult shot, but Petrovic and the post saved the visitors, and in the 70th Bumo missed a huge chance.
United responded in the 77th minute, with Bruno curling in a magical free kick to make it 3–3. Two minutes later (79’), after a lightning counter-attack, Šeško passed to Cunha, who made no mistake, scoring the 4–3 amid scenes of jubilation. But Bournemouth were not done yet: in the 84th minute Krupi struck from the heart of the box to equalise at 4–4.
From then on the ball went back and forth, with both teams searching for the winning goal in a match that had turned into a real thriller. United pressed with long balls from Cunha, Bournemouth responded with counter-attacks, but neither side managed to find a fifth goal.
In the 90’+6’, Lamens made a huge save to deny Brooks with an incredible stretch, keeping his team alive. And as if that wasn’t enough, in the 100th minute Lamens again said “no” to Brooks in a one-on-one, while on the rebound Krupi failed to make proper contact, missing the final big chance of the match.
The game ended with the unbelievable 4–4, leaving fans talking about one of the most exciting and crazy matches of the season. With the point they shared, United remain in 6th place in the table, while Bournemouth reached 21 points and moved up to 13th.
